Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Yeah, we've heard this all our lives, but what does a good breakfast look like? I do know it should have carbs, fat, and protein. Here are just a few morning meals I enjoy.
Cheese Oatmeal or Grits
1 c. cooked oatmeal or grits 1-2 Tbs parmesan cheese or 1 slice cheese 4 egg whites (opt) Garlic salt season to taste Cottage Cheese Oatmeal 1 c. cooked oatmeal 1/4 c. cottage cheese 4 egg whites (opt) Garlic salt season to taste Grits & Tofu 1 c. cooked grits *Fried tofu Season to taste *slice a 1/4 size cube of firm tofu into forths. Marinated in soy sauce then fry in skillet. Mix with grits. | Oatmeal Raisin
1/2 c. dry oatmeal prepared w/ 1 c. water 2 tbs raisins 1 tbs peanut butter 4-5 egg whites Country Grits 1/4 c. dry grits prepared w/ 1 c. water 4-5 egg whites 1 whole egg season to taste Grilled Tofu Sandwich *Fried tofu 1 slice of cheese 2 slices of whole wheat bread or whole wheat english muffin. *cut one slice of tofu, marinted in soy sauce then fry in skillet. Place between bread. |
